Taking Control of Your Food Allergies

Knowledge is power, and there is power in numbers. For this presentation, Alex, Nikash, and Isabelle will join forces and share anecdotal advice for managing the many challenges that arise from food allergies. This talk is meant to inspire young people to empower themselves and others by acquiring and sharing as much knowledge as possible and advocate for their own health and happiness in the face of adversity.

Alex Davessar is a junior at Walsh Jesuit High School in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. He was diagnosed with an allergy to peanuts and tree nuts when he was 18 months old. Alex is a member of Walsh Jesuit’s track and field team. Nikash Khanna is a 16 year old junior from Cupertino, California. He has severe allergies to peanuts, tree nuts, beef, pork, shellfish, gelatin, eggs, coconut, and seeds, to name a few. Izzy is a junior at Menomonee Falls High School, Menomonee Falls, WI. She has food allergies to peanuts and tree nuts. She creates new allergen free baked goods for herself and her brother who is allergic to milk, eggs, and nuts.
